If all of the heavy-weight predictors say a Republican House is a sure thing, I will probably have to go along. You'll find out when I post final predictions on 11/1. Regards, JoeM. It is an unbiased weebsite with a good prediction record and I think that you should look at THEIR projections...I think it is more accurate. The republicans look poised to pick up 30 seats (+/- 5). Not enough to take contol of the house, but enough to shift power away from the left of the Dem paty to the center/left were the Blue Dogs reside. The Blue Dogs will only have a few days in November after the election to "seize the high ground" and replace current Speaker Pelosi with one of their own. November after the election could become very interesting if the Blue dogs and republicans can work together.Rookie7Marlinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04325340618441961126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37621266.post-19218403729813608962010-05-06T12:35:24.734-07:002010-05-06T12:35:24.734-07:00Joseph:

No on Stimulus, No on Cap & Trade and No on the Health Care bill. Come Nov. 10, 30plus of his democratic collegues will wish they had followed his lead rather than Speaker Pelosi's.Rookie7Marlinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04325340618441961126noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37621266.post-65823397641424032492010-03-05T14:39:30.643-08:002010-03-05T14:39:30.643-08:00Im sorry to tell you this...but with the current p...Im sorry to tell you this...but with the current political climate in Pennsylvania, I wouldnt expect Gerlach to lose. I see that three writers whose opinions I respect are now all predicting that Republicans will take the House: Chris Bowers of Open Left, Nate Silver of 538, and Charlie Cook of the Cook Political Report.

Hey, you know what's interesting? The House may actually switch control over each of the next several elections!M. [2 in all]

Sorry to tell you this, but you wont grab one in PA, I know my home state and our Governor scared away a lot of the Dems.

I have only done a little bit of research...watch out for up-state New York districts as well as some other PA districts like Dahlkemper's district.

So, over all I right now predict 18 net seats, but intrade just increased their data to at least 35 net gained seats for the Republicans.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37621266.post-70399471035803603082010-02-07T15:40:13.297-08:002010-02-07T15:40:13.297-08:00(2/8/10) A fair question, Joseph. I'm aware that most pundits are currently predicting that Republicans will either pick up the 40 seats they need to take over the House, or that they will at least come close. I don't work that way. I don't just pick a number out of the air. When I see a race that's likely to switch party control, I add it. Clearly, as we see more polls come out, the number of seats I'm predicting will go GOP will climb. If you can identify some specific seats that are very likely to switch that I've ignored so far, just let me know.M.
